Today we thank our veterans for their service and the sacrifices they made to ensure our freedom. Our students took time yesterday to honor veterans during an assembly led by the CDHS Student Council. Major Jessica L.M. Carr. Commander at U.S. Army Sustainment Command Headquarter and Headquarters Company, shared an inspiring message reminding us about the significance of Veteran’s Day and how even if you aren’t serving in the military that you can still be of service to others in your own way.
At Ekstrand Elementary, Art Teacher Courtney Janaszak continued a favorite tradition of displaying an entire wall full of student and staff family members who have, or are currently serving, in our military. This is truly a beautiful way to honor our military personnel and we are grateful for Ms. Janaszak’s, as well as our students’ and staff’s, commitment to honoring them.
Thank you to Major Jessica L.M. Carr, the members of the DeWitt American Legion for the Presentation of Colors, CDMS and CDHS choirs and the CDHS band who performed at the assembly as well as everyone else involved for making this a special event! Most of all, thank you to all veterans for your years of service and all you have done for our country!
